WoW Bug - only upper left quadrant showing

Post by eqbot_man » Sun Dec 19, 2004 2:19 pm

Everytime I start WoW all I see is the upper left quadrant of the WoW login screen. I run WoW in full screen emulated mode. The only way to fix it is to switch to tiny first, then to normal, then it looks/runs fine, but until I switch modes all I see is the upper left quadrant. what's going on?

Also when I switch to tiny mode when I first log on and all I see is the uper left quadrant filling my screen the window goes to tiny mode, but the picture is squished to the upper left quadrant of the tiny mode window like this:

---------------------------------------------
| | |
| WoW | |

|______| |
| |
| Black Space |

Do you have the game itself set to full screen mode by chance?

No. I saw the little flash of "You can't run winEQ while game in FS" message. I've tried it both ways by making sure that it was in windowed mode, quiting out, then going back in. Then making sure it was in FS mode(even though it says it won't work) then quiting and goign back in. Each gives the same enlargeing of the upper left quadrant

What's odd is that for WoW, we dont actually do the windowing part of the job. And secondly, scaling is built into Direct3D9. Do you have WoW set up to use opengl maybe?

Adapter Display Mode: 1600x1200 D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8
Game Display Mode: 1024x768 D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8

i see your in game setting are diff from your destop setting .

Try to set a pro feils to your desktop setting and sett rgw game to your desk top .

do the rev and make sure your borders are on in the windowed preset in WinEQ .

I made a post about this problem a liite while back and how i discoverd how to fix it to run in WOw full screen.

At least what i did lets me run it in full screeen now with np at all.

Same here, the WoW login screen is a bit moved up and left until I switch tiny, switch full. It's just become habit to launch WoW and Tiny / Full

My in game reso and destop are both 1280x1024 and the WoW Video shows as Windows Mode.

It's not game breaking, just annoying. Anything I can post here for review? or need to change?

I hate TS over the imternet if i had the PC here i could fix it.

I can see it has something to do with your profile setting or window preset's in WInEQ.

but i really can't tell from this end expect say try to do a custom preset then load it that way.

but make sure you have all your setting the same way with a WInEQ preset resolution, desktop resolution and WoW resolultion. only reson i don't use it in WOW windowed mode is the gamma cant be ADJUSTED IN WINDOWED MODE OF WOW.

I have 6 pc that were having this problem ( you are having now.)when WinEQ2.05 came out AND I DISVOCERD my fix purely by mistake. and a few frineds who us WinEQ I set up and they no nohthing about PC's > . and call me when they need a problem soloved.

but trying to TS over the internet is a real pain . without seeing wht it is doning AND being there, i no i could fix it almost right a way.

but like lax said wow ( if your screen in wow is to small or big just use the UI scale ) .has it own way of adjusting , but your desktop and wineq and wow has to all be set ( RESOLULTION) the same to work amd border's in a preset in wineq has to be on. i did try it with out border's on and my screeen was out of alinement . and i did try diff resilultion in WinEQ with wow set diff and had all kinds of probelm's with the mouse being out of alinement etc. just to see what would work after i discoved how to make it work with out WOW being in windowed mode .

I wish you lived nere me Id love to get you going.

Real sorry i can't help you any farer expect say it has something to do with your setting on your desktop , wow and wineq, resolution wise and make sure to have the border's on at leeast for me if i turn off the border's my screen is out of alinement in WOW.

Or bear with it till INNER SPACE is live it need's no real setting like it say . and to me seems to be much more sable then WInEQ> .

just not user friendly yet.( INNER SPACE.).

I always like the end produt more then the starting one.

hope this helped you a liite bit, sorry i cant really do much more, but give adivce at that this point.
