Character select sreen issue...

Post by Reason77 » Mon Aug 29, 2005 8:49 pm

Hello I'm having an issue with the character select screens. On the character select screen you can only see the character and the background but you cannot see the list of characters on the account, the delete button, the exit button, or the continue button to enter the game. Has anyone else had this problem? I just recently installed the software and so that I can 2-box and I am a register user. Please help, thanks.

I saw this happen once, but logging out and back in solved the problem. It's some EQ bug with the interface, but I dont really know past that.

The problem with that is that the continue button is missing from the character select screen so I can't log in and log back like you said. =/

Actually I said out and then in :) You can try it with straight EQ first and it should just fix itself

hmm, tried that and it still did the same thing. Maybe it has something to do with my monitor or graphic card?

Highly doubtful. 100% to do with the EQ interface. It does the same thing with straight EQ, or only with WinEQ?

I'd be willing to guess that the windows are moved off the screen for some reason, and that if you deleted your character ini file (or rename it or whatever) it would work fine

It's EQ2 and it doesn't do that when I start the game without using the software. I'm going to keep trying and see what happens when I play around with the options

Oh... uh.. well it would have helped to know that then since I always assume it's EQ1 unless someone specifically says a different game :)

I dont know of the issue with EQ2, but I can tell yuo there is a bug in EQ2 if the window is smaller than 800x600

Ok I was able to get the character screen to show everything, the list of characters on the account, the delete button, the exit button, and the enter world button by changing the resolution on both my monitors to 1280 by 1024 through Nvidia. The only problem now is that when i move my mouse around to click on one of these it doesn't do anything. My mouse is working fine btw. I was able to enter the world by pressing Enter on my keyboard and in the world I can click on objects around my character but unable to click on any windows within the game.

OH. I think I just realized what the problem is you're having. :)

WinEQ requires you to have the game itself in windowed mode. Change this in the EQ2 options screen under "Performance"
