Video Capture Crash

Post by Ruakton » Tue Aug 09, 2005 6:45 pm

Any time i try to use the video capture feature windows closes WinEQ2.09 pro. It starts recording fine and creates the video file but once I stop recording, Windows closes WinEQ. Any thoughts?

Also the video will not play back and locks up windows media player 10.

Thanks for the report, I'll look into it and fix as necessary. I'm pretty swamped right now between Inner Space and Fury but I will get to this by the weekend. Sorry for the delay :(

I am having the same issue, Video capture records, then as soon as I stop recording and wineq starts the encoding stuff, Windows shuts down WinEQ. Was curious if the issue was found? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I'm not having this problem with WinEQ 2.10. Did you modify any of the video capture settings? Is this with EQ1? Windows XP SP2? Can you post sysinfo.txt for me?

I still dont have info about your video capture settings ;)

Your system appears normal, at least according to the sysinfo.txt. The only real difference from my setup is the CPU, so this could potentially be a threading issue. Tell me what your capture settings are and I'll do some testing

Hmmmm even with the same settings, still no crash. Must be related to the effectively dual CPU. Unfortunately I dont have one for testing, so I'll have to order one, and hopefully I can fix it from there. Can you try setting the CPU affinity for both the tray program and EQ to the same single processor?

I don't know why it's registering that I am running dual CPU's heh, I'm only running 1.. that could be the issue... Where do I go to set the CPU settings the way you recomended? Thanks again

It's because your P4 has hyper-threading, which shows up as 2 CPUs to windows.

I dont really know how to set the affinity, only that people with such systems do it ;)

Regardless, I have test hardware coming in the next couple days and will test this when it arrives

Good news. I had the new hardware overnighted, and I have installed it, and I have also reproduced this crash. It's verified that it is due to effectively dual prcoessors (includes dual core, hyperthreading and dual cpu).

I'm working on it right now and should have it fixed very soon.

Fixed. When you restart the WinEQ 2 tray it will patch itself up.

Please continue reporting any issues you experience :)
