I am having a problem with Everquest 1.
I had been using EQWindows for two-boxing on a single PC up until recently (the 6/29/05 patch). Since that day, I have been forced to run multiple instances of Everquest and it has been working well enough. Well enough, that is until last night.
I was boxing my usual level 70 Warrior and level 68 Cleric and I attempted to start a LDoN adventure. I was unable to do so. I was grouped with two other level 68 players and neither of my two characters was able to enter the dungeon after we requested the adventure. One of my two chars then went linkdead and was kicked back to the character select screen. I tried rebooting and reloading Everquest and this did not help.
I have done many LDoN adventures using EQWindows with no problems. I went to the EQWindows website and the software seems to be more or less abandoned. There was, however, a link to the LavishSoft website and I found the WinEQ2 software. I downloaded the software and it did not help. I was having the exact same problems I was having when I tried the LDoN adventure using multiple Everquest instances.
Is this a known problem for users of the WinEQ software? I would like to know if there is a way to join a LDoN adventure playing two seprate accounts on the same machine. I was able to do it before using the EQWindows software.
Thanks,
Jacob

Nope. WinEQ users go into every zone in the game without problems, and the issue you're having probably has nothing to do with WinEQ or EQWindows. Not being able to enter specific zones would be a pretty nasty bug. I will suggest two things.
1)
2) The problem is more likely to be corrupt EQ files. Try doing a complete file scan, and if that doesnt work, you can try deleting the zone files for the zone(s) you're trying to enter. You might have to take this to the official EQ technical forums.
1)
Your NVIDIA driver is version 45.23, and the current version is something like ... 77.x. I highly recommend updating that, but it probably wont make a difference for entering LDON.Driver: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200/nv4_disp.dll/6/14/10/4523

Thank you for the prompt response. I already went to the SoE Technical Chat and was told that playing multiple instances of EQ on a single computer "was not supported" and was told that I should "play the 2nd account on another computer."
However, I just realized my problem! I had a hard drive crash about a month ago and I had to reinstall my OS and all software. In my haste to get my EQ fix, I skipped downloading the LDoN zones. Yeah, that was a bonehead thing to do all right ;p
Thanks again!!
