HI

Post by toptek » Wed Feb 16, 2005 11:40 am

just a short post about WOW it's a great game ,but im real Afraid to box in it till they fixx few memroy problem thve been havng .

like flying in to IF and my memory drops to 28 MB even worse in the PC with 2.5 ghz it runs even worse it just goes LD or even lokcs up while the one with 1 ghz run better then my other PC's with higher memory.

ive even tryed the 3GHZ switch and it didnt work .

and whts bad is on one of the PC with high memory i had to replace a stick of memory because of the IF thnig. ( Iorn forgce ) for those that dont play WOW .

the good thing about geting the memory replaced is it was kingston. '

I just hope by the time IS is ready for ever one, WOW is , or i wont be boxing in wow til i m sure i can do it safely . WOW can be real bad for memory , worse then EQ was. but its still to me the best game out there , right now.

I have to disagree about the memory issues, I havent seen anything like that except on my laptop which only has 512MB of RAM (I run other programs to keep an eye on Lavish though). WoW itself will only use up to about 350-400MB in IF in my testing. My main system runs WoW flawlessly, even if I run two sessions.

You may very well have issues on your systems with WoW though

Yes, when flying into Stormwind on server Hellscream the memory warning pops when using WINeq. This happens on 5 different machiens at my house, all with 1 gig of ram. I have no clue if it happens outside of EQwin cause WoW dont have a memory pop up like WINeq does.

Toptek, do you use dual monitors? I can't seem to get InnerSpace to allow me to move between dual monitors like WINeq does. ANy idea? (I want to use full screen mode and not ahve the Windows bar at top or side (think that's called Windowed Mode).

bob can you explain in more detail what trouble you're having with dual monitors? I have set up two profiles in my IS, one on the primary display and one on the secondary display, and have had no problems putting them both in full screen emulated and switching between them.

What I mean is that with WINeq I can run WoW on Primary monitor and simply move the cursor off the screen onto the other monitor with my web browser.

I do not seem to have this ability with InnerSpace. The mouse stops at the edge of the screen.

Oh. Should be no different with IS, unless you have the game itself in full screen mode -- IS does NOT force the game into windowed mode unless you set it to. Set the game in windowed mode via the checkbox in the game's "Video Options" interface, then you can hit shift+alt+f to emulate full screen mode if you have a clean install that created the PreInit and AutoExec (and if you dont, you can delete Games.XML and create the "Scripts" folder and start IS, or just instal it clean).

I deleted the games.xml and created a script directory. Works like WINeq did now. I can move between monitors and use the alt+shift+f / n / t

Couple last questions... if you don't mind .. just smack me if you do mind ...

How can I add the FPS back to the corner using IS?

The CPU limiter for IS on background seems to be 59-61% cpu , how can I lower that down to 10-20% like WINeq?

How do I make a shortcut like WINeq did that auto launched WoW with WINeq (in my case WoW with IS)?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Too answer my own questions.. forgot it was a console thing ...

How can I add the FPS back to the corner using IS?
HUDAdd "FPS" 20,20 FPS: ${FPS}

... I assume the commands are all similar and in the help...

Thanks Lax, job well done !
