Problem with Alt+... Key-Combinations in EQ

Post by trevyn » Sun Dec 26, 2004 5:26 pm

Hi Lax,

since the new Patch (2.07) i can no longer use any alt+... key-combinations (like alt+g for guildscreen, alt+o for options, and so on).

Rather annoying and i hope you can figure out whats going wrong ;-)

Furthermore (but not yet since 2.07) it seems not to accept any modifications made with selection on luclin-models.
showing i have none selected but displays the former selected models even they should be turned off.
maybe it's because i am running a special ini for each character.
options seem to read the original file and wineq seems to fail to transfer these settings into my own eqclient.ini.
(for workaround i changed it manually *G*)

addition:

alt-key seems to have no function anymore (only session-switching works fine).

Fixed the alt thing, sorry about that (restart WinEQ and let it patch itself). I was testing something and forgot to take that back out. This problem only affected the localized versions of EQ.

Dont know what to tell you about the .ini thing though, that hasnt been touched since WinEQ 2.0 originally was released.

well lax - that's what i call SUPPORT!
glad to have my alt-key back ;-)

well - for the ini-thing:
i never realized this - just tried to turn off some more luclin-models these days and it never worked on profiles using own ini's. (so this may be indeed a "problem" (wouldn't call it a bug) for a long time yet)

it seems like the following:
You start your profile (with custom ini) and change options on the eq's login-screen.
Modifications are written back to the original eqclient.ini and wineq does not realize this and uses the past options when the eqclient-whatcharever.ini was created.
maybe it won't be a bad idea to mention this in the help file where you introduce the customized ini-files that if you change some options through the eq-client itself you may have to copy the content of the eqclient.ini to your customized one (this is what i did and i am happy now without these unwanted luclin-models :) ).

Well, it's supposed to make the options editor use your custom eqclient.ini as well, as long as it was launched from hitting the "Options" button. If your options editor filename isn't "OptionsEditor.exe" then WinEQ wouldn't detect that it has to attach. Other than that, I cant think of a reason why it wouldnt work. I'll double check on this, thanks for the report
