EQ2 Extended uses the Streaming EQ2 client. To use this, you will need to do the following:

First, switch to the development build of Inner Space. To do so, right click the IS icon in the system tray and select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches", then close and restart Inner Space. IS will patch up to build 5227 (or later).

If, after it patches up, there is automatically a "No Patch (Streaming)" profile for EQ2 (right click IS in the system tray and hover your mouse over the EQ2 game in its menu to see the profiles), then use that. It already has the extra parameters required.

If EQ2 is not detected, or there is not a "No Patch (Streaming)" profile for EQ2, here's the simplest way to add it. Right click the IS icon in the system tray and click Add Game. In the Name box, put in something that isn't already in Inner Space's list. Point it to EverQuest2.exe in your EQ2 folder, and if you're successfully running Inner Space build 5227 or later as previously instructed, there will be a Parameters box at the bottom of the Add Game window. Paste this in the parameters box:

Code: Select all

cl_prefetch_wait 120; cl_resource_address http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch/eq2/assets/live/
Then click OK. The "Default profile" for the game you added should now be set up to directly launch EQ2 Extended, bypassing the launchpad.

I have edited the default profile and made a new profile and get this error with both.

Failed to execute "C:\Users\XbiT\AppData\LocalLow\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II Extended\EverQuest2/exe" cl_prefetch_wait120; cl_resource_address http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/patch ... sets/live/'. InnerSpace Launcher Error Code -22

Someone who was having the Launcher Error -22 problem says this:

(Note: Obviously his main language isn't English)
after I reinstall the EQ2X to different folder, the IS works, guess my old client program was patched from EQ2X Alpha, so some different between old and new version, however, thanks a lot
So if you guys have the opportunity to try a reinstall of EQ2 Extended (maybe even to a different folder as the other guy tried), that might work. In the meantime I'll see if I can reproduce this problem, thanks for the info about your version of Windows.

Getting rid of the Alpha install worked. Clean install into C:\ProgramData\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II Extended\ which is now the default install path for extended works.

If your Window Layout main region size is smaller than 800x600, EQ2 has a bug where the bottom and right portions of the window are going to be black. If you want my help with that I will need to see your ISBoxer config. For how to show it to me the right way, see http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13
