The application will not launch.
This is the error I get.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x64. And using Direct X 11.
What should I do to get the application to launch correctly?

Yeah the message says it's different than DirectX 10 but apparently I need to update it to say that it's ALSO different than DirectX 11.
Notice that it says it does NOT mean DirectX 9.0c.
When you click OK, you are taken to the download for the update you need. If you hit Cancel, you are expected to find it yourself, here's the link:

Vista and Windows 7 do not ship with the periodic updates Microsoft releases for DirectX, so simply having one of these OSes installed does not mean you do not need the update

Thanks Lax,
I completed the download of Direct X Software Development Kit.
And then Inner Space did finally launch for me.
If you could change the error screen to include Direct X 11, as well change the wording for the Software Developer Kit version of Dx9, that would help lots for folks like myself who might run into this.
Respectfully,

You don't need to install the SDK, just need to run the dxwebsetup. You did it the long way

Should have just clicked OK and clicked Download on the page it took you to
The updated text in the next build of Inner Space is as follows:
requires an update to DirectX that is not present on your system. Click OK to be taken directly to the DXWEBSETUP download on Microsoft.com, which will detect and download only the missing parts; or, click Cancel if you would rather find it on your own. (Linux users need to copy d3dx9_37.dll into their Wine system32 folder)
I removed any reference to which particular version of DirectX it uses because that only confuses people.

*Confirmed this still works for those of us with Direct X 11 built into the spicy new gaming motherboards*
Direct X Version 9/10 would not install because of an error, but I was able to download and install the archived SDK files and workaround it.
Thanks Lax!
