ISBoxer + EQ1 (2 Questions)

Post by Saffronica » Thu Jul 09, 2009 2:56 am

Recently made the switch from WinEQ2 Pro to using ISBoxer and very happy with the results. Bugs like alt keys & mouselook behind held down in background sessions when alt+tabbing are gone and thus far the support for running on individual cores works perfectly as intended instead of issues that WinEQ2 seems to have ever since SOE tried to support it themselves.

Two questions I have not been able to find the answer to:

1. The "Lock Gamma" setting in WinEQ2, is there any method of doing this in ISX or via ISBoxer? When loading multiple sessions, once the first is in game the second dims the gamma while loading up until it gets in game. Once a second session is camped out, the gamma settings are then reverted and the first session is left looking very dark unless I open up EQ's options window and slide the gamma slider up or down a notch and then back again. WinEQ2's lock gamma feature prevented this.

2. When holding down the right mouse button and then using left clicking to move a character forward it works great until I turn the character more than 45 degrees in either direction from where I originally held the right mouse button down. Then the left-click to move functionality stops working entirely until I let go of right-click and then hold right-click again. So if I right-click to mouselook, and spin the character's heading 45 degrees I cannot left-click to move initially, it is as if the left-click is not working.

I am wondering is this a bug, or is it related to one of the ISBoxer settings?

I currently have "When clicking the game to focus" set as "do what it normally does", "Prevent game from repositioning windows" checked on, and "Make game believe it is foreground window" checked on, if any of that is applicable.

Thanks for the great product.

3. Innerspace must get its keyboard information differently than WinEQ2 does. I have run into another issue and am wondering if this can be overcome via keybinds or something similar.

I use the Apple Keyboard, not because I like it but because it saves a ton of desk space. One annoying aspect of this keyboard is the design of having the "command" (windows) key and the alt keys switched from the default positions. To overcome this I have ran SharpKeys, which rewrites the key mappings to the registry. I swap RALT with Right Windows, LALT with Left Windows, and F13 with PrntSc.

Using WinEQ2, there was no interference with this functionality and in EQ1 I was able to hit the "apple windows key" + O to open up the options window.

Now using ISX+ISBoxer, my remapping is no longer detected and I am forced to hit the apple kb's ALT+O, back to the one thing I hated about the keyboard in the first place. This has the adverse affect of also opening up my Start menu due to my remapping. Obviously I could fix that part by just undoing it, but I am trying to avoid having to use their layout.

Is it possible to overcome this?

Thanks x 2.
