window switching macro no longer working!

Post by zentar » Sun Jun 28, 2009 8:19 am

So for the past few months i've had one mouse button bound to [ctrl+alt+1] and another mouse button to [ctrl+alt+2] and it's worked beautifully for switching between monitors. It no longer works! any ideas or suggestions on better ways to switch back and forth between 2 windows?

Umm... Run your mouse software as Administrator and I suppose it should work.

If you are using standard mouse buttons (e.g. buttons 1-5 which are left, right, middle, left side, right side) then these can be bound through Inner Space (or ISBoxer) as your switching buttons, and you wouldn't have to worry about the administrator thing.

You are giving us nothing so all you will get in return are guesses.

Hope thats ok.

But if you are using a Logitech, check your mouse/keyboard drivers. Logitech installs a toolbar icon in the bottom right. If you right click that icon and you get a configuration pop-up that does not include a mouse tab, custom mouse button functions will not work.

I have had to reinstall these stupid drivers on several of my systems.

ok i suppose i was a little vague... i am playing eq2 on a system with 2 monitors. i am using a logitech cordless trackman mouse, has lots of extra little buttons. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_ ... 9&cl=us,en

i want my two windows to stay put when i switch, i just want to use buttons 5 & 7 to switch between them. when i do keyboard input of ctrl+alt+1 and ctrl+alt+2 while in game, it switches just fine. i have the mouse buttons programmed to input these commands but it's like they're being ignored.

it was working beautifully up until this last game update.

i will try re-installing the mouse drivers and also try setting something other than ctrl+alt+1/2 as my switch keys.
