LOTRO Innerspace - Console cannot be opened

Post by maveth » Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:18 pm

I am two-boxing on a vista machine (main) and an XP machine (secondary). I use the multiple computer help toggle in ISBoxer and it all communicates correctly to the XP machine. However, when I launch character sets, etc. the Vista machine does not give any indication that innerspace is even working. I cannot bring up the console, even after re-mapping the toggle key. Suggestions?

Switch it to Direct3D 9 mode (turn off Direct3D 10 mode)

Hmmm no, the only reason I am aware of that it would not work in Vista or later is if Direct3D 10 is enabled.

I have the same problem innerspace will launch 2 instances of lotro. But it would appear nothing happens i dont have access to console or fps memory meters and no binded keys work.

Any suggestions (BTW im running Win7 RC)

Well i got to install innerspace on my laptop which runs vista 64, and it worked without a problem. But still have not got it working on my desktop.

What i noticed was that when innerspace works it renames lotro window to ls1(ctrl+alt+somthing) or somthing like that sorry. But on the machine it wont work on lotro just launchers the game with std lotro window.

Any ideas any suggestions?

Again, the only reason I am aware that this would be an issue is if the game is in Direct3D 10 mode. If the game is in Direct3D 10 mode, it will act exactly as described (no window title change, no console, etc). My suggestion is to double check this setting.

Yeah i checked all the settings a hundread times over lol, even took the desperate measure of running lotro in xp compatabilty mode to remove the option of dx10, still no luck.

Just installing windows xp to see if a diff OS will make a difference.....
fingers crossed.

Well finished installing everything and innerspace is working under windows xp. Oddly enough i found out that if you fill in "Pre-Main excutable filename" that the same problem happens. Not sure if this was what was happening under windows 7 RC but it looks the same.

That's actually not odd at all, because the pre-main executable executes "before" the "main" (game) and does not get treated as an Inner Space session. You don't want to fill that in (and in fact don't want to touch any settings in your IS profile)
