IS newb unable to find ANYTHING helpful
I'm trying to set up Inner Space essentially for the first time. I have looked through dozens of wiki articles, searched for a FAQ, even browsed every single forum subject in this forum, and NOTHING is giving me the most basic instructions for setting up Inner Space.
All I want to do is set up profiles like I had in WinEQ to launch my 3 accounts for EverQuest.
I'd prefer to actually have these profiles named the same way I had them before - by their login name for the game. Only my 'main' account really needs to patch, because I'm using a single installation of EQ. I cannot find a single helpful explanation of how to do this.
I am not a programmer. I am an end user. I don't understand much so-called 'geek speak'. I just want to set up Inner Space the way I had WinEQ, to see if it solves the issue I was having with WinEQ being unable to actually run multiple sessions. I've already posted on the WinEQ board and been unable to resolve the issue with that program. One suggestion was to 'upgrade' to IS, but it's not much of an upgrade if I can't figure out how to use the bloody thing.
I'm very frustrated. HELP.

The suggestion to use Inner Space involves using ISBoxer. I wouldn't expect you to get into the nitty gritty of Inner Space.
However, the most basic instructions for setting up Inner Space are as follows:
1. Download it
2. Run it
3. If it didn't detect the game, select Add Game from the menu.
4. Launch the game.
Inner Space itself is NOT just a simple multi-boxing tool like WinEQ 2. It is a platform for which additional software is generally used in order to achieve what you want to achieve. This is why you can't just look at the documentation for Inner Space and instantly see how to do what you wanted. Reading through the programming references for Inner Space is going to yield you as an end user just as much useful information as reading through the programming references for Windows -- none at all. You want the software that is already created, in this case ISBoxer.

It is quite simple to use (unless you jump right into the complex features), and you can launch your characters with 1 click instead of selecting all 3 individually. You do not need to do a single bit of configuration through Inner Space itself to get the features you were using in WinEQ 2. Do it all through ISBoxer. You do not need multiple profiles in Inner Space -- you can create a Virtual File for eqclient.ini and one for eqlsPlayerData.ini.
I would take more time to answer but I'm in the middle of a cross country move and need to get back on the road. In short, don't worry so much about Inner Space itself, just get ISBoxer like I suggested.

Thank you.
To the first poster; yes, I did look at the wiki. That's why I said - and I quote - "I have looked through dozens of wiki articles".
Lax - thank you...that's the kind of info I was looking for. I was apparently perceiving IS and ISBoxer incorrectly. I thought I could do the same thing with IS as I had been doing with WinEQ and that ISBoxer was only needed if I was going to be using it for things like key repeating and such. I shall download ISBoxer forthwith.
Lumpy - I may very well take you up on your offer, and thank you for it.
