IS patching problem.

Post by purevil » Wed Oct 10, 2007 2:39 am

Installed IS on my laptop. After running IS as an admin, the uplink window shows up and try to patch files from the server, however it seems it ll just stuck there forever. Sometimes it stuck at _Lavish.dll and sometimes InnerSpace.exe. Went out for 3hours, it's stilling trying to download. Exit IS and restart it, same thing happens.

What the problem might be?

Using vista home edition 32bit.

New problem with vista ultimate.
Downloaded installer, run it as admin, it tried to download files to the innerspce folder. Download stopped after few seconds and the downloading file is not responding.

Sorry about the triple posts, where is the edit button? -__-

Is there a lastest version of IS for download, so that i do not need to patch it through uplink???

Right click, Run as administrator. Your user does not have permission for Inner Space to patch itself. No, there is not and will not be a new download available every time Inner Space is updated. The Inner Space installer has been basically the same for 3 years.

There is no edit button, I prefer your triple posts. I read the forums via RSS, if you were to edit your post instead, I would miss the edits.

I did run it as administrator, if i didnt, the uplink will not even show up.
Only when i run it as admin, the download will start but stuck somehow.

Just tried it on a different computer using XP system.

I downloaded the installer, installed IS. click the IS icon, and it starts to download files, but it ll stop responding after few files are downloaded.

Tried few times, same result.

It seems that the connection to the download server is terminated shortly after download starts. I am in new zealand, does it matter?

Not particularly. We have a lot of customers in Oz and several in NZ. But depending on the speed of your connection, potentially I suppose. It will only lose connection if it doesn't get any data from the server for at least 45 seconds. As a Pro subscriber, the server is going to be trying to push data to you pretty much as fast as you can receive it, up to its bandwidth limitation of course (which is not saturated).

So unless your ISP is dropping packets or your home connection is poor, it shouldn't be a problem (but it could be, I'm no expert on NZ internet). I believe I know some other kiwis that use the software without problems like this.

I made an archive for you to get Inner Space installed with:
http://www.lavishsoft.com/downloads/IS-Install.zip

Just unzip it to your Inner Space folder, overwriting any files of the same names. This is the bulk of the download, you'll still end up downloading probably 10 small files through the patcher, but it should be done in an instant.

Hopefully after you install initially, this issue will have subsided by the time you need to patch as many files.

Thx lax, the zip file worked great, all other downloads went smoothly.
I ll let know what happens when next time I need to patch as many files.
