Just a head's up

Post by zelfsilverwolf » Tue Jul 24, 2007 6:39 pm

For the record, I want to set it straight that I've been thinking of quiting wow for many times in the past.

It seems that blizzard has detected wineq as a harmful third party software for wow. This is what I use for 2boxing in the game obviously as I'm posting here. And, I also don't use any addon except for a map coordinate where it shows the x,y numbers.

Why I'm posting is because I got a couple of email from blizzard about my accounts being banned. And, to let whoever out there that use this for wow to let blizzard know that this software is not harmful at all.

This is the beginning of my new life as I no longer have warcrack addicted to me. I'm free! :D

Also banned. No appeal. I'm lucky in that a) hubby paid for my account with a different card than he pays for his own account with, so he didn't get banned too and b) he didn't use WinEQ2 like I've urged him to do.

Thank You Lavish - whatever you've done in the last few days brought WinEQ to the attention of Blizzard and screwed your customer. I will not be renewing when my subscription runs out. :x

I've been using WinEQ2 for a year now and just had my accounts banned today. Hope you all stop before this happens to you.

Banned today as well, assuming by WoW CS forum posts and here that it was WinEQ2.

Earlier in the day when I got those email about the ban. I emailed them back describing my situation. Just now I decided to see if I can post on the wow forum, and surprisingly I can. So, I checked my account management page by logging in. Now it's showing up as active like normal. Bad thing is I thought I was free from wow, so I uninstall the game. Now I would have to reinstall it to check.

And now... I can log in. I did email Account Admin, and the Acount Admin supervisor. Got no response, but after waiting 2 hours and seeing the post by zelfsilverwolf, I decided to try logging in, and the ban was lifted... for now anyway :P

I too was banned, but didn't see this thread beforehand.

I sent them a nice email about the ban asking what it was for. I haven't done anything with WoW that would even be slightly considered against their terms save for WinEQ2, and I told them that in the email.

A few hours later I got an email saying my ban was lifted and I've received 2 days free play for the inconvenience.

I replied back before I saw this thread and basically asked them what caused the ban, asking if WinEQ2 is okay to use or if I should stop using it.

Now I've found this thread, it all adds up, and we'll see what Blizz says in reply to me as to whether or not they hate WinEQ2 now.

I need to apologise for my earlier post. I was very upset and had no call to accuse Lavish of 'screwing' anyone. Please accept my humble apologies.
