Problem with EQ out of focus.

Post by Nox » Fri Feb 02, 2007 12:28 am

Hey,

This might be a little hard to explain, but I'll give it a shot.

I run a dual monitor setup (both 1680x1050) and this problem is ONLY happening on my primary monitor. If eq is in the foreground on my primary everything is fine, but if I focus on a screen on the other monitor, the fps drop to nothing (probably a eqpn thing) and the graphics distort. This isn't the main problem, but I would guess the same thing is causing it. The real problem is that when I move a small window on top of EQ on my primary monitor, the graphics of EQ below the top of the screen (im box, wmp, something smaller then full screen) distort. Basically, everything below the foreground screen on top of EQ shows a still screen of something that happened in eq previously.. like the screen is split and i can see a still of where I was 30 sec ago. Kinda hard to explain.

It seems like its a WinEQ2 problem because when I load the normal eq client there's no problem. I found that this also happens with other 3d app's when I use something to make them fullscreen emulated.

I actually think it might have something to do with the title bar being off the screen for some reason.

graphics distort how?

The expected behavior of a background window with EQPN's rendering limiting enabled is "flashing" of the UI, and no update of the actual game world (i.e. your view of the terrain, players, etc, underneath the UI). The "flashing" occurs when the game world updates. Between those updates, the game world display area is not guaranteed to display anything interesting. The default settings should cause the game world display to update once per second in the background.

With that said, between game world updates it wouldn't surprise me if something else replaced it and it didnt change until the following update.

When you have this issue, and you switch back to the window, does it fix itself?
