Auto holding down alt key on session switch

Post by stratigamo » Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:51 pm

For some reason whenever i switch sessions using my hotkey alt-a, the game thinks im still holding down alt when i get to the next session. I have to press alt agian to "release" it.

So if i switch session and go to press the "w" key for move forward the game thinks im pressing alt-w, and brings up a stupid window. If i press the alt button agian this goes away. Any ideas on how to fix this?

anyone have a clue as to whats causing this? Ive tried to mess around it it seems as though it does this with any key i bind. The game simply thinks im still pressing down the control key (or whatever key i use for next session). its quite annoying. Any input welcomed!

Are you using global hotkeys or WinEQ hotkeys? WinEQ resets the state of the keyboard whenever your session switches to the foreground, so this shouldnt be happening at all. Post your sysinfo.txt as well (right click on game window title bar, select Get System Info)

That looks normal, but the first question still remains: Are you using global hotkeys or WinEQ hotkeys?

At least now I see why you'd be complaining about this issue when it was solved years ago in EQ1.... you're playing EQ2 ;) It would have been useful for me to know that bit earlier :)

Sorry, im using the hotkey for "next session". I'm not using global ones.

Note that it doesn't happen every time, i'd say maybe 1/5 of the time it does this.
