Cursor issue with EQ II on secondary display

Post by Bogakona » Tue Sep 05, 2006 3:29 am

WinEQ 2.14 works great for me when I run EQ II on my primary display (1280x800 LCD), but when I change the profile to force the display to the secondary display (1600x1200 CRT, which works perfectly when I run EQ with WinEQ2, by the way), the cursor will not stay on the secondary display, no matter what I try.

After EQ II starts, the cursor resets to the right-hand edge of the primary display and I cannot move it back onto the secondary monitor unless I press the Windows key first. Then as soon as I click, the cursor resets to the right-hand edge of the primary monitor again, without activating whatever I clicked on in EQ II (such as the Quit button on the login dialog).

This still occurs after exiting and restarting WinEQ2 (I noticed that your patcher ran and installed some new files).

Weird.

I do see that EQ2 thinks that it is in full screen mode, so it may be clipping the cursor to the area that it thinks it should be clipped to -- say, the size of your screen. Try telling EQ2 that it is in windowed mode (can do so from the Options button at character select, or from in game) and see if that fixes the problem. I have a feeling it will. Let me know either way, so I can fix the bug

Telling EQ II to use Windowed mode resolved the problem with the cursor getting locked to to primary display. Thanks!
