dual monitor support
It's been awhile since I last used this software. I two box World of Warcraft. With one of the later patches, both my sessions want to reset themselves to the upper left corner of my primary display whenever I switch to it. I can move either session anywhere on the screen, but it will always find its way back. How can I make it so it stops moving itself.
Also, when I double click the title bar of wineq2, it resises the window. This is a pretty cool feature, for it can perfectly fill the screen easily.
Thanks

This would have happened any time with WinEQ 2. And here's why. You cannot drag a window onto another display and have it 3D accelerated. Period. This is because of the way video cards work, and the way Direct3D works. What you're supposed to do is select the display BEFORE launching the game, so that the game can assign its video resources to the correct display. Because of this, WinEQ 2 will snap the window back to the display it will be 3d accelerated on.It's been awhile since I last used this software. I two box World of Warcraft. Now... if you want to be able to select the display with WinEQ 2, this is a Pro feature, and would be an option in your WinEQ 2 profiles. You would need a separate profile for each display you want to use.
As far as double clicking the title bar, that's actually a feature of WoW. WinEQ 2 doesnt interfere with its normal windowing

re:
I've been playing around with the WinEQWoW.ini file, and have been able to get the desired result. There are some values in there I haven't been able to figure out yet, maybe you could help. Then again, maybe this file wasn't meant to be configured by hand. I am a Lite subscriber.
Under General and FPS. For FPS, that would be where the FPS shows up, but what about General?

Profiles
Locale: Not sure what this does
Adapter=-1 I'm guessing this is disabled in Lite and sets which adapter gets used.
Tile=-1 This is the Off position?
I've been able to save a Profile for both accounts that start up in the right spots. I notice when the second Warcraft comes up, it origianally starts in my left screen, so it isn't getting the full direct x benefits when it draws itself on the right screen. I have the adapter set at Adapter=-2, but I have to give it an offset of 1600 pixels to draw on that screen. I suspect if it was using the 2nd adapter, the offset would be zero.
Also I have the Default WoW Preset set to zero, but when WoW loads up, it doesn't get the resolution right. Easily enough corrected with shift+alt+n, but maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks in advance! Still pondering the Pro version just to see how it effects the FPS on both accounts.

You're right, it's not meant to be configured by hand. The options you're asking about do nothing at all for Lite users. Locale is not used at all for WoW.
The fact that you are able to get around the no presets limitation, is a bug, and I will fix that bug... thank you for bringing it to my attention. I apologize for the inconvenience. (Note that you can still set the position of the Normal preset)

Glad I could be of service *grumbles and lol*. Maybe we can just delete this post and pretend it never happened. I hadn't read all the documentation before diving into the file, and didn't realize I was breaking the rules so to speak. My mistake!
One item you may want to look into is this theory that playing Warcraft on two seperate monitors isn't possible. I'm not very computer savvy, but I do know that this is indeed what I am doing. I have a 21" and 19" LCD with both Wow's on different monitors, running at 24bit color with 4X anti-aliasing. I will say that the frame-rate could be better, which is why I'm looking into the Pro version. Usually both sessions sit at 15 to 18fps, but on a LCD to me it still looks good.
"Note that you can still set the position of the Normal preset". This is good news! I hadn't used this software for some time. One thing I noticed before is that the windows weren't locked into their original spots. You could move them freely once created, and they would stay there. I think by default, the "Lock Position" variable of the Normal preset is set to on. I can move the window, but when it becomes active it will move to it's original spot. Either A, being able to unlock the window, or B, setting it's original position will make boxing a lot better.
Dual displays: I suspect that my primary gpu (Nvidia 6600 GT) is accelerating both sessions even though it's on the other display. Maybe I'll do some more research. Maybe you could shed some light, because my system is living proof it does work.
One last unrelated thing... I notice that my internet explorer doesn't show a lock at the bottom of the screen when entering my password. Is that page not encrypted, or is there a problem with my browser?

I was going to edit my previous post down to something like, great product, great service. I can't find that option though, perhaps it doesn't exist. I've been using this for awhile, and you are donig a great job with it really. Feel free to ignore my previous entry
As a side note: the frame rate drops down to below 10fps at times, normal presets are more than enough for all the free loaders (so to speak). The encryption thing should be an easy yes or no
Appreciate the service, and all the work you have put in.

I disabled edits because people would routinely edit their posts with an addendum instead of replying to their post, and then I would miss the addendum and they would complain
When you drag a window to another monitor, what happens is it starts getting software accelerated instead of 3d. This means that FPS will immediately drop, and your CPU becomes more taxed. It will still *work*, just very slowly
Our website is not "secure". The only thing on our website that really needs to be is the payment part, which is done through PayPal -- which is secure. Other than that, we don't ask for personal info other than a username and password. Nothing wrong with your browser.

Did you mess with the X,Y in the preset? You might want to try resetting them, as the numbers are based on the monitor the game is activated on (e.g. 0,0 is always upper left corner, regardless of the monitor)em2johns wrote:When I alt tab, or hotkey to my second warcraft session on my second monitor, it goes away. It seems to go way off to the right of my monitor, judging by the way it behaves when I try to maximize it.
What gives? Pro version now.
Ah. Okay, I totally misunderstood what you said, I thought it positioned it way to the right, but you're saying the window is 1280x1024 and extends past the edge of the screen.
When you say "when I try to maximize it", can I assume you're using WoW's built in maximizing feature? (when you click the maximize button or double click the title bar, that's WoW) If you were to be using WinEQ's shift+alt+f or such, it would work fine. It sounds like WoW is checking the resolution of the main monitor instead of the one it's actually on, so I'll have to fix that for them
