same character, different resolution =>UI is ugly

Post by bartab » Fri Aug 04, 2006 1:30 am

I know this is possible to run the same char on 2 different resolution using 2 different eqclient.ini

I want to play char1 at resolution1 but also sometimes at resolution2 (resolution1>resolution2).

my problem is that my UI now is made to fit perfectly resolution1, and that if I change to resolution2, the UI will look ugly, I won't see all windows, they won't be well placed etc....

as far as I know (I may be wrong, well I hope I'm wrong) the UI settings are stored in a file like UI_char1_server.ini
I don't see a possibility to say resolution1 uses UI1 and resolution2 uses UI2 where UI1 and UI2 are stored separatly....

do I need to redo my UI everytime I switch from resolution1 to resolution2 or there is a clever and less annoying way ?

The UI files contain positional information for each resolution.

Your best bet is to take the time for one character, position all the windows where you want them in each resolution, and then copy that characters UI ini file over each of the other characters (if you have multiple characters)
