Dual Core Question

Post by Nox » Sat Jun 17, 2006 2:33 pm

Hello, I am trying to set up WinEQ on my computer right now and ran into a slight problem.

The person that built my computer installed this program: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=438

I am trying to use it to have seperate instances of EQ run off of seperate processors.

However, when I load an instance using that launcher, I can't load another because "WinEQ2 detected it is already running!" To make things worse, the profile doesn't even load most of the time (just WinEQ does) and I can't load it afterwards due to the aforementioned problem (even though I am loading the exact same profile).

Is there anything I can do to make this work? Thanks in advance for any help!

I saw this and thought I'd post...

I use a dual core proc, and since I have been using WinEQ, I have not needed any other app to load to do processor affinity. No more runfirst or anything like that with WinEQ. If you run an instance without using the software, then you would need to use something.

I have not seen it, but I'm betting there is some code in the app that does the processor juggle for you.

WinEQ 2 automatically rotates sessions between the available processors. You do not need to set the affinity yourself.

Vengeance is correct, WinEQ 2 handles CPU Affinity internally. You should not need to use anything other then WinEQ 2.

Wineq wont rotate them correctly if one client is closed/crashes. I doesn't realize that cpu is free and in the case of dual core when you open it up again it puts both on the same cpu.
