Issues with Laser mouse

Post by Alyarie » Sat Jun 03, 2006 5:47 am

I installed innerspace on 2 pc's I duo with. I had a very unsual problem. When I use a regular optical mouse I am fine on both pc's. Everything works perfectly.
When I installed a new laser mouse on one of the pc's everything was fine "except" when in EQ2 I could not right-click anything or be forced into mouse look automatically and could not get out of it unless I camped completly out of EQ2.
I checked ISXEQ to make sure the versions matched on both pc's. I made sure the configs were both the same. I unstalled and reinstalled Innerspace and the laser mouse on the one pc. It just wouldn't allow me to right-click anything in game. If I use an optical mouse it works fine.
I thought maybe it was an EQ2 problem so I by-passed Innerspace and logged directly into EQ2 and the laser mouse works abolutely fine.

So, any idea why there are issues with Innerspace and a laser mouse? Or do I need to do something specific in the config I am missing to accomodate the laser mouse?

Weird. No, I'm not aware of any technical difference in software between optical or laser mice. There's nothing you have to do to support a laser mouse as opposed to an optical. But I'm not saying I dont believe you.

What you SHOULD do is go into the IS Game Configuration (Configuration, then in the Game Configuration tab), for EverQuest II. Check "Virtual Input", click apply, and try playing. It should hopefully work perfectly with this enabled. Let me know

lol ok can't check mouse now because I can't get past the character screen without getting an EQ2Client Application Error:

AppName: everquest2.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: everquest2.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 004b1679

I am using the the 2006515Everquest2.exe unless there is another update I missed but checking the forums I have the latest one.

So I can't try your suggestion yet as I have no clue why I got this error lol.

Ok I had to backup both the EQ2 files and the Innerspace files to copy them all over to get rid of that client error. That done, I did as you suggest on the vitual input and that is causing a client error of it's own before the game even gets past Innerspace EQ2 nopatch.
I unchecked it and it loaded fine but the mouse is being it's tard self as long as I use innerspace. I copied this file for file off the smooth working pc with the optical mouse. Same old lovely issue back again and it's just with right click on the mouse only.

I am open to any other suggestions :)

I know the new DLL isn't out yet but want you to know Lax that the right click issue and being stuck in mouselook seems to be an RQ problem. I still can't right click to examine, scribe ect. but I am not getting stuck in mouselook.

Once I get the new DLL, I will be able give you more info about the right click issue.

ISXEQ2-20060614a is installed. I can't examine anything in the inventory but doesn't put character into mouselook. If right click a vendor only now, it puts me into mouselook. So there is a change.

Btw this just started after 20060515 DLL. Prior to that there was no issue at all.
