multiple eqclient settings

Post by lva » Sat May 13, 2006 4:09 pm

Hello,

I recently purchased a subscription and am trying to figure out some comfortable setups for my characters.

On one machine I would like to run Char01 singlely occasionally at full screen video resolution VR1. I would also also like to occasionally run Char01 and Char02 tiled at VR2 and VR2 respectively, where VR1 > VR2.

So for instance sometimes I want to play a cleric at 1600x1200, and sometimes I want cleric and chanter both Tiny tiled, but I would like them to run in 800x600.

The solution I thought of is to copy the eqclient.ini and paste as "eqclient-boxed.ini" and in that file change the video resolution to 800x600, and then in WinEQ2 Profiles set the EQClient.ini setting to this new one.

I'm concerned about forward compatibility because sony likes to throw a bunch of crap flags in eqclient, and I don't want to have to copy the file over every few patches to get the latest settings.

Is there a different/better way to achieve my goal?

Thank you for your time in responding.

You shouldnt have any problems. Any time they add something to eqclient.ini, they dont modify the file through the patcher, the game client itself looks and sees that the setting is missing, and adds the default value.

Thank you, I tried this out and it works pretty slick. able to keep different settings based on which profile I want to use, just have to make copies of eqclient ini.
