Huge loading time?

Post by Pest Control » Sun Apr 02, 2006 7:15 pm

Am I supposed to sit here for 10 minutes waiting for this thing to finish loading now?

No? Can you explain the problem you're having with any greater detail? Has your WinEQ 2 been patching properly? Are you waiting for it to patch, are you waiting for it to "finish loading" as in launch EQ?

If you're waiting for it to patch and having problems with it, then you should grab the WinEQ 2 installer, and use it. It wont destroy your settings, but will make sure most of the files are up to date, including Lavish.dll. If your lavish.dll is too old, it wont patch reliably. Lavish.dll is of course patched by the patcher too, so if you are patched up, dont worry about it. I'm just unclear on what trouble you're having.

While the OP hasn't responded, I am having the same problem. Or maybe it isn't a problem and standard lol. I just downloaded WinEQ2 to see if I want to pay the 36/y for it. I have been patching for a considerable amount of time (most likely due to my connection) but, in approxmatation, how many megs of downloading is it. My connect goes at like 20-40kbs due to the wireless conection not being strong. Total patch time so far is ~15 mins, with only browser and text editor up.

Well it just finished with a ~20 min patch time, so there ya have it, just takes a while to get the initial patch.

I'll make some changes to the license server to make the patching a little bit less painful, this isn't the intended effect.

Im having the same problem as they stated above. However I have a 5MBit Cable line and it still took about 10 minutes to run the patcher. I don't restart my computer that often so its usually always running, but anytime that I do, it takes a really long time before its done so that I can use it =/

I haven't been online in a while.

I just redownloaded and reinstalled the program.

It still takes nearly 5 minutes for the thing to load up.
