How do I use old PC models for EQ?

Post by neshika » Tue Dec 27, 2005 3:12 am

I'm using the most current edition of IS, and am 2-boxing. Unfortunatly, no matter how I set PC models/etc (eqclient or via the options on login screen), it only displays full luclin models.

Was wondering if this was a bug, an issue of settings not updating (I checked all files, theyre correctly set to what I want, but its not loading them in game), or if there is an option I cannot find in the IS control panel.

Thanks

IS by default uses a profile-specific eqclient.ini file. This behavior is set in DefaultPreStartup.iss and is of course not required to happen. Anyway, look for "eqclient-Default EverQuest Profile.ini". If changing via the options editor doesnt work, theres probably some hole in the file/ini redirection that needs to be fixed

Checked the file, everything is how I want it (showing human/dark elf/elemental+horse ONLY) - but its not showing in game =/. Still full luclin.

Well, there's also a setting thats called something like ShowAllLuclinModels or something you can check. Which file, specifically, did you check? What profile are you launching?

It's working fine, I never realized there was profile specific client files - just thought it pulled it from standard eqclient. Once I found the one you mentioned, I checked it...was the way I wanted it. Didn't find the nopatch one until today. Fixed it, and models are changed.

Out of curiousity, would a future feature make it possible to update the eqclient that IS uses from the standard EQ directory? Heck, maybe an autocheck+update, or even use it specifically. Most people probably change their options via the "options" button after they start the game up to be what they want- would it make sense to auto-sync the 2? (or 3 I guess with default and nopatch)

Thanks for help btw.

Well, it's supposed to work via the options editor (e.g. when you hit options at the login menu, EQ launches the options editor), but there might be a hole in the ini/file redirection. I'll check on it
