WinEQ Failing to Patch

Post by Acebooze » Wed Jul 13, 2005 12:42 am

Greetings fellow WinEQ users and EQ Players :-)

My problem is rather interesting...every time I load WinEQ 2.0, it pops up progress bars indicating it's downloading updates for the various files and what not...when it gets done, I get a pop up for each file indicating that the file could not be 'Outputted." The exact message goes as follows:

--Lavish Patcher--

Could not output file WinEQ2.exe. It may be in use. Make sure all Lavish Software products are shut down and wait 5 minutes 9 or reboot0 before trying again. Hitting OK will cause the patcher to skip this file, but the software will try to patch it again until it is patched successfully.

What that means is beyond me, but this is happening after shutting down WinEQ and even after a complete reboot...I'm wondering if it's having trouble with the fact that I installed the program under a different folder and HDD than the default folder and HDD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

You might try deleting your WinEQ 2 folder and installing it again from scratch. It sounds like the file system is corrupted, or you do not have sufficient permissions on your windows user to patch WinEQ. The folder/HDD have nothing to do with it, you can install wherever you please... but you do need to be able to patch it ;)
