LOTRO client limitations and workarounds

LOTRO will resize and reposition the game window to the center of the screen
Solution: Check "Prevent game from repositioning windows" in your ISBoxer Character Set. The Quick Setup Wizard automatically enables this.
LOTRO will ignore keystrokes unless it is the foreground window
Solution: Check "Make game believe it is foreground window" in your ISBoxer Character Set. The Quick Setup Wizard automatically enables this.

Helpful snippets from ISBoxer Chat

Creating a follow button in game

  • May 12 13:58:23 <Kyth> I have a question about setting things up for Lotro. Every time i set my character to follow my main. That works fine. But when i go to attack, the follower loses follow. Is there a way to attack and reinstate follow without having to switch screens after every kill?
  • May 12 13:59:14 <nathanastack> In-game do you have Skill target forwarding on?
  • May 12 13:59:16 <Lax> You should never have to switch screens in order to perform an action on the other window. you can make a Mapped Key to press a button in your other window to make your other character follow
  • May 12 14:00:18 <Kyth> Do you need it on for both characters? i have it on for the follower
  • May 12 14:01:39 <Kyth> And about the mapped keys, in lotro its always been ./follow i have never seen a key binding for this
  • May 12 14:02:35 <nathanastack> You can set /follow somewhere on your quickslot bars, for instance at the end of the bottom one, which corresponds to "=" and make a key map in lotro to send = to your slave lotro
  • May 12 14:03:12 <nathanastack> or change the quickslots bindings to anything u want
  • May 12 14:03:29 <Kyth> How do you set /follow to a key binding as you describe?
  • May 12 14:07:09 <nathanastack> in-game type /quickslot 12 /follow
  • May 12 14:07:09 <nathanastack> that will set /follow command to slot 12
  • May 12 14:07:18 <nathanastack> then in-game, go to keybindings
  • May 12 14:07:51 <nathanastack> esc > Options > Keymapping. Then click on quickslot 12
  • May 12 14:07:56 <nathanastack> and press the key u want it set to
  • May 12 14:08:19 <Kyth> perfect. Thanks nathan.
