We are working on collecting all of the information that needs to be shared on this page. Please bear with us if the information you are looking for is not yet available. If you need assistance, there are several people who use ISBoxer with LOTRO in the chat room.
Is this allowed by Turbine?
Turbine has stated that multi-boxing is allowed in any of their games.
LOTRO client limitations and workarounds
- LOTRO will resize and reposition the game window to the center of the screen
- Solution: Check "Prevent game from repositioning windows" in your ISBoxer Character Set
- LOTRO will ignore keystrokes unless it is the foreground window
- Solution: Check "Make game believe it is foreground window" in your ISBoxer Character Set
- LOTRO will not allow your main window to be the full size of the screen. If your main window is the full screen size, mouse positioning will be incorrect.
- Solution: Inner Space build 5004 implements a workaround to this problem. This build is currently a development build and is available through the Inner Space Patcher window. To switch to the development build, open the Patcher window, check the development builds box, and restart Inner Space. To switch back to the live build later, follow the same process.
LOTRO error messages that may prevent playing
Can't bind local socket
- Open your UserPreferences.ini file, found in your Documents\The Lord Of The Rings Online folder
- Look for a line that says [Net] near the bottom
- A couple lines below [Net] is a line that says
ComputeUniquePort=True
Change it to:
ComputeUniquePort=False
Something about R6034 and the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
This has something to do with other software installed on your PC not playing nicely. A small minority of people get this issue. We are working on a permanent solution for this problem.
If you cannot wait, here are some suggestions:
- Reinstalling Windows and not installing any other software will definitely solve the problem, but may be tough to swallow
- Try shutting down other running programs
- Try uninstalling programs
Virtual Files
- Files you may want to Virtualize
- UserPreferences.ini
- Keeps various settings
- lotro.keymap
- Stores key mappings
