Frequently Asked Questions relating to ISBoxer Suite

This information takes time to provide. Please bear with us while we fill in the details and add more Frequently Asked Questions.

General

Do I need multiple game accounts to run multiple characters?

Yes.

Is this safe to use with the game ________?

How do I move my characters together?

Action Target Groups

Characters

Character Sets

Slots

World of Warcraft: My Focus Target settings do not seem to be working!

  • If your Characters are not grouped in-game, the generated Focus Target macro will be unable to set the Focus Target.
  • Make sure that each Slot is broadcasting a different keystroke. The current version of ISBoxer Toolkit will prevent this from happening, but it was possible in older versions.

Can the Hotkey to switch be different than the Broadcast keystroke?

Yes. There is no correlation between the hotkey you press to switch, and the keystroke that is broadcast. They can be the same, or they can be different. The difference between these settings is one is for you to press to switch, and the other is interpreted by the game.

Computers

Key Maps

How do I disable Key Maps so I can type in a chat window, etc?

How can I disable Key Maps with the same key I disable Repeater with?

Does Key Repeat need to be enabled for sending keystrokes?

No. Key Repeat is used only for one-to-one (meaning that the broadcast is identical to the original) sending of keystrokes, and does not need to be enabled except when you want the one-to-one broadcast functionality.

Repeater

Window Layout

Do I have to use the Auto Layout button?

No. It is just a convenient way to set up your Window Layout. See the Configuring a Window Layout section of the Getting Started guide for details on manually creating your own Window Layout.

How come the Auto Layout window won't let me put 2 sessions?

Just put 3 and ignore the extra window it generates. It is not harmful to have additional regions defined.

The size of the non-main regions that are generated depends on the number of sessions you enter in the form. With 2, the extra regions would be too large for this feature to be generally useful.

How come the Auto Layout window won't let me put more than 8 sessions?

The size of the non-main regions that are generated depends on the number of sessions you enter in the form. With more than 8, the extra regions would be too small for this feature to be generally useful (even 8 is stretching it). You may find it more beneficial to manually add additional regions after generating with 8, using the Add button on the Regions page.

Virtual Files

How should I set up Virtual Files for the game ________?

The instructions below are summarized and contain as little information as possible to describe the information needed for the specific game. See Configuring Virtual Files in the Getting Started guide for detailed instructions on how to create a Virtual File, and use the recommendations below.

EverQuest 1

  • To keep your Account Name for login
Create a Virtual File called eqlsPlayerData.ini. For each Character, virtualize as a different file name as desired. For example, you may wish to keep an eqlsPlayerData.ini for each EQ1 account, and use the same file for each Character on a given EQ1 account, e.g. eqlsPlayerData-MyAccount.ini.
  • To keep in-game settings per Character
Create a Virtual File called eqclient.ini. For each Character, virtualize as a different file name as desired (example: eqclient-Bob.ini for a Character named Bob).

EverQuest 2

World of Warcraft

Create a Virtual File called Config.WTF. For each Character, virtualize as a different file name as desired (example: Config-Bob.WTF for a Character named Bob). This will make it easy to keep your Account Name, selected Server (Realm) and selected Character for speedy logins, and keeps in-game settings such as view distance per Character.
