Graphics Problems

Post by Soad » Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:21 pm

So I've tried reinstalling Innerspace and ISXEQ2, but it hasn't changed anything. The wierd thing is, I can't understand how it is that these programs would create the problem I'm having. When I open EQ2 with the Innerspace console, I can see no mounts, and the tile flooring in my guild hall that is from Holidays doesn't exist... it's as if my computer doesn't know what they are and so doesn't list them... Then I open it with the launcher, and everything is normal. I can't figure this out, and I'd love it if someone could point me in the right direction

Yeah I wouldn't expect either of those things to affect that issue ;)

I would check for video drivers, and if that doesn't help, try changing some of the advanced graphics options in the game, set it to max performance, etc.

Does Innerspace or ISXEQ2 change the options tab? because it works when I run it through the launcher (think I mentioned that) but it doesn't when I run it through innerspace

Everyone loves to insist on explaining that many times over, rather than trying what I suggest they try. I understand that this happens only when used via Inner Space. Try my suggestions. ;)

No, Inner Space doesn't "change the options tab" and I don't think ISXEQ2 does either but that's not a question for me, that's a question for the ISXEQ2 folks.

Inner Space does affect how the game renders, and changing these options may find the workaround for the issue for you. And if you find it, then you can report it to me, and then perhaps I can correct the problem.

Or it might just be a driver bug.

Well, as a heads up, I did do the things you suggested... I just figured I'd reiterate those things so that you knew that doing those things didn't fix the problem...

Thanks, it's helpful to mention that :)

I haven't heard of this issue so I don't know what else to suggest at the moment

ok, so I've been doing some testing... I have discovered that what it seems to get rid of is mainly the "optional" things you can patch in the blue patcher... and it definitely isn't isxeq2... because when I load innerspace without isx, everything is still missing

More updates... I've reinstalled Innerspace... still has the problem... I've gone into my eq2 file, and just opened everquest2.exe and the problem is not there... so it has nothing to do with bypassing the launcher, 100% because of IS... is there any commands that IS could be sending that would cause the eq2 client to be unable to find some of the models? so far, things that I've noticed missing... the 2nd floor of my guild hall (entirely made up of azure, green and plum stained glass squares), Goahmari herbs, and mounts... not sure if anything else is missing... but I haven't noticed anything

No. If there was an Inner Space command you could use to show the models you are missing I would have told you before. But like I said, Inner Space does not purposefully interfere with the game's ability to render those models and I've never heard of this from anyone else, so I don't know what to tell you to try beyond fidding with the game, or your drivers.

There is nothing you're going to change in Inner Space to get a different result, and there is obviously something different on your PC than everyone else. I don't know what it would be or I would offer you suggestions.

Worst case, I would expect a clean install of Windows + EQ2 + IS to work just fine...
