Error Code -23

Post by SiliconeClone@hotmail.com » Thu Dec 23, 2010 11:53 am

When trying to start EQ2 ISX seems to hang for a bit then I get

"Failed to execute "Game Blah Blah" Inner Space Launcher Error Code -23 (it will help to report Inner Space Launcher Error Code -23 if reporting the issue!)"

I have searched around a bit but can not locate any information on error code -23

Fresh install wit latest DX9 and .Net30

EQ2 starts up NP on it's own so just curious if anyone has seen this error before and/or has solved it.

Launcher Error code -23 doesn't mean anything other than what you observed: it seemed to hang, and not successfully launch the game. More specifically, Inner Space executed the process, but the process appears to have hung before Inner Space was able to communicate with it. It's possible that it is hanging while trying to load Inner Space.

When this happens, it is from other software interfering with the process. The other software might be security related, it might be network related, or it could be something that you wouldn't think would have anything to do with it. It's not always easy to figure out, but if it previously worked and recently stopped, then it's likely related to something you recently installed ;)

Some examples of programs that have caused this or similar issues recently:
NVIDIA firewall, SpeedBit, Spyware Doctor, ThreatFire (used by Spyware Doctor)

If you can't identify the software causing a problem, grab http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-Hi ... 27353.html
Run it, there's a big button "scan and save a log" that's selected by default. Click that, it takes like 2 seconds and spits out a log. Paste the log for me and I'll have a look

Hmm seems to be my DX9 install causing it. Using Feb 2010 one is there a different suggested one?

This is the updater software for DirectX 9, which should fix it if it's due to DX9.
