Having some trouble with WinEQ v2.15 and Everquest.
I've been running two sessions on this box for a few years now and have very few problems. It's a slow machine with 1 gig of ram, but it's been way more stable that my other machines. One other machine has 2 gigs ram, it's up and running two accounts just fine. The other only has 512MB, it too is up and running two accounts just fine (albeit the 512 machine has a 256MB vid card slapped in there ).
Since this most recent update ( 05-OCT-07 ) the other machines all load up like champs, but this box crashes back to desktop every time I attempt to load up two accounts with the following error:
eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Then, when I select to DEBUG the message is:
unhandled exception in eqgame.exe(D3D9.DLL):0xC0000005: Access Violation
While watching Windows Task Manager for CPU and RAM use, the CPU is nearly pegged at 100 while the ram ramps from around 150mb up to 1.02G. At this point the CPU drops to 30% sits there for a few seconds then the crash window appears.
If I only load up a single account in WinEQ, it loads just fine.
I'm guessing something changed, and since it wasn't on my end it seems to be an EQ or WinEQ modification. Any ideas would be appreciated.
