I know little about multicore pcs, but with an upgrade incoming within the month, i need to know if I will gain any benefits from a multicore rig. Ive been told that wineq only runs as 1 program regardless of the # of instancees u have up (ie 4 boxes) and therefore a multicore cpu will not speed up eq when running via wineq2pro.
anyone help plz? i can still cancel my order
Is WinEQ2Pro Multithreaded

Whoever told you that either has no idea what they're talking about, or you have no idea what they were talking about.
Multiple cores will of course increase your performance running multiple EQs. It will not really speed up an individual EQ, because most of the work is done by the main thread. But when you add another core, that means another individual EQ can have its main thread run simultaneously on the other core. WinEQ 2 sets the CPU affinity for each session (you can disable this feature in the WinEQ 2 general settings, if you want), round-robin. In other words, it puts your first session on the first core, second session on the second core, and so on. This helps keep the performance of session 1 independent of session 2, so if one is lagging, hopefully the other is not affected. In the end, multiple cores will make your multi-session experience a bit smoother.
