Performance Issues with post 4251 and ISXEQ2

Post by pygar » Thu Dec 07, 2006 12:22 pm

Summary, when surrounded by lots of actors and creating custom actor arrays, performance drops to crap. Unloading the extension immediately returns performance to normal.

We've verified users on 4251 are NOT having the problem, users on 4282 ARE having the issue. Don't have any test cases for versions between.

Fingers are being pointed between IS or ISXEQ2 on the cause of the problem.

The fact that it doesn't happen on previous builds of IS is agreeably a strong indication that the problem lies within IS or some change in IS that created something that needs to be applied to the extension.

Honestly, I have no clue which is at fault, however gameplay is virtually impossible in densely populated areas sinse this started happening.

Thanks

This question was actually posed to lax a few days ago in IRC. Lax's response was that he had made no changes to anything that should have impacted something like this.

I have this problem with Innerspace.exe using up 50% cpu (dual core) and slowing my machine down. I've been using IS before without any issues.
