I just got a new laptop with 1440x900 res and am having trouble with my UI in WinEQ. When I set up the UI in EQ2, without winEQ, I can set up my hotbars and chatbars fine but when I load it with winEQ the bottom inch or so or the screen is clear of UI stuff and anything I attempt to move down to the bottom of the screen promptly disappears. It acts like that part of the screen isn't there. Basically I move the chatbox down and as I do it slowly disappears without reaching what I see as the bottom of my screen. That inch or so just shows the ground I happen to be standing on. Hopefully that makes sense.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also getting a windows protection error that takes me to a blue screen and forces me to reboot my system. It isn't consistent and it tells me something about shutting down my computer to prevent damage to my system. I'm not sure if this could be linked to the resolution problem.
You mention a blue screen system reboot error in this thread but you don't really go into detail. I ran a search of the forum but couldn't find where the issue was addressed.
Next time the error happens I'll try to get down the exact wording.
Thanks again for all the help.[/url]

You dont. The point is that the resolution is stored differently when it's using WinEQ 2; go all the way into game and hit Alt+O and in the display tab there, make sure the resolution is the one you're wanting to use. It sounds like the selected resolution might be larger than 1440x900.Gorjess wrote:I'm not finding the window preference option when I go to the options menu through the icon in my taskbar. How exactly do I set my res other than simply through options in game?
Generally the reason for this type of issue is drivers (but it can also be hardware failure). You should make sure to go to your laptop manufacturer's web site and see if there's any driver updates for your model. When a blue screen pops up, you should take note of the stop error code (which might look like IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) and the driver filename (which might look like ativxxx.sys or .vxd). You can usually search for the name of the driver on google if you don't immediately recognize what it's from, and then find a fix for that driver.I am also getting a windows protection error that takes me to a blue screen and forces me to reboot my system.
