InnerSpace + MQ2 = Broken EQ

Post by [40oz] » Tue Apr 04, 2006 6:36 pm

Seems with todays IS patch, I'm unable to run EQ with MQ2 running as I have been. Anyone else have the problem as well, or better yet a fix? Was working last night.

Running newest version (4-1) of MQ2, then Run Innerspace, then Run EQ. EQ Patcher works fine, but eqgame crashes immediately with no crash dialog boxes, just ceases to show up in task manager.

Any clues?

Seems last nights IS patch has fixed some of the issue. The game launches now, however it does not load any settings properly. My previous server isn't there, it always starts in full screen even though it should be in windowed mode, the tab button doesn't move between the username and password box like it used to. When in full screen mode there is no mouse. I haven't gone past the server select screen to verify anything further.

If I disable MQ2, then most of those issues go away. It still has problems in windowed mode (won't go in to the background, for instance) and sometimes the mouse doesn't show up in windowed mode, but it does get all the way in to game.

Note: I believe the previous settings are not there because I used WinEQ2 last night, and it seems IS and WinEQ2 never really play nice with each other settings wise when you go back and forth.

I have to go to work now, but I'll help with any additional information I could provide.

Using a nVidia 7800GTX on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe on fully updated WinXP Pro with recent drivers.

Inner Space uses per-profile eqclient.ini files by default, so settings you used without Inner Space are not automatically going to carry into IS. The files are in the EQ folder and are named eqclient-<profile>.ini, such as eqclient-Default EverQuest Profile.ini.
