Garphics Memory Problem
Hi everyone.
Im using WinEQ quite a while now. 3 Weeks ago i started 3-boxing Everquest on my PC. Im running an Intel 3Ghz with 3GB Ram and an X800 Garphiscard with 256 MB.
Now i have the problem, that atfer about 3-4 hours my graphicsmemory fills up and i get the warning low memory, the game started to stutterd and a bit later i cant switch the sessions and the game crashes.
Any has an idea how to fix this problem, without logging off and rebooting everytime?
Thanks in advance for the help.

The only actual problem I see is this
Here's mine with the same scenario:
Past that, looks ok. I dont know if the Beta IE7 is hurting anything, but I would assume not. Wouldnt hurt to try reverting back to 6 and see if anything is different, if nothing else helps. Should also check for newer ATI drivers.
It looks like you might have multiple EQ folders, so I would try running the multiple sessions from a single folder -- there has been issues in the past that were linked to simply using multiple folders, for some reason. WinEQ makes it work like you're using multiple folders just by using different profiles (set your own eqclient.ini file if you want, and the login information is already kept separate per profile for you), so there's not really a good reason to use multiple folders. For more details on why you should use a single folder, you can see WinEQ 2 FAQ item 2.1: http://www.lavishsoft.com/wineq2/faq.php#2.1
That's all I can think of at this point. Let me know if this helped
I'd assume you have a 256MB graphics card, and I'm assuming you have 1 session open.Available Texture Memory: 266MB
Here's mine with the same scenario:
This indicates that in your BIOS, the AGP Aperture Size is set very low, possibly 64MB or less. With 3GB of RAM, you should be very liberal with the AGP Aperture. It might be called something different in your BIOS, but regardless would be some sort of shared video memory setting and would have possible settings like 32MB 64MB 128MB 256MB 512MB. It would not hurt anything for you to set it to 256 or 512MB.Available Texture Memory: 479MB

Your right with the graphics card i have 256 MB on it and i had only one session opened.
i changed the agp size to 256 in my bios now (max setting) and here are the results with 3 sessions open:
(btw i didnt knew that i can run 3 diff EQ from one directory and still can use different types of settings in the ui, i def. have to try that out ! thanks for the tip)

getting this same message/problem. but i am computer illiterate and what was said prior i was not able to follow. can you please break it down a little bit on what to do to someone who has not much of a clue on computers.
thanks
thanks
Sure. start with this
Right click on the titlebar on the game window, select Get System Info, and then paste it here for me. I cant help you without itThis actually sounds more like a system RAM problem rather than texture memory. Can you post your sysinfo.txt? You can get it by right clicking on the game window titlebar and selecting "Get System Info"
thank you

Re: thank you
mauphin~ wrote:System Physical RAM: 85/510MB
Your computer has 512 mb of RAM and your EQ session wants to use minimum 430 of it. The reason I say minimum is I believe some of the options memory requirements have gone up. With your settings you could easily be at 500 mb of RAM per session.mauphin~ wrote:Calculated minimum RAM: 432MB (BASE+149MB)
I would bet that you are simply running out of RAM and your gameplay is suffering because of it.
Re: ok
Either, though you will get better performance with more RAM in the system.mauphin~ wrote:ok, so then to fix the problem i should add 512ram to make my computer at a gig? or should i turn off some of the options so it doesnt use so much ram?
thanks.
I generally answer that it really doesnt make a difference which you do as far as performance for the single EQ session. Either way, you are increasing the gap between the memory EQ is using, and the amount you have in the system. However, one choice leads to spending money, and the other does not. That's your choice to make. Most people dont want to spend money, so obviously try decreasing options first. The options to disable are listed in your post
You would have to disable several luclin models according to your settings.
If you were to add RAM to the system, you would be able to run more programs at the same time.
Code: Select all
Luclin models: 29 (+145 min RAM)
Dynamic Lighting: ON (+4 min RAM)
Texture Caching: ON (+0 min RAM)
Texture Quality: LOW (+0 min RAM)
Calculated minimum RAM: 432MB (BASE+149MB)
