Dumbfounded an EQ1 , WinEq2 , problem
Okay first off I'll admit i have the flu and am fairly ill so maybe my brain just isnt working correctly. As of last patch my wineq2 no longer can find the EQ exe. I patched up to 2.13 and all that jazz and notta, same problem , thought I would redo the winEQ installer and that wont work as well as an write error pops up for the lavish dll. I've thoroughly searched the wineq2 folder and there iis nothing in there with SYSINFO.TXT written on it and upon entering the game i look through about 5600 commands but none that say anything about system info, so I guess first off i need idiot instructions on how to get you the info you may need and then secoundly a cure for the pathing problem.. thanks
I dont know why this happens on some systems, but you should try toggling the patch option for the profile you are launching. For example, if you have patch OFF and it cant find eqgame.exe, try turning it ON and see if it works fine when launching everquest.exe.
As far as the write error popping up for lavish.dll, that happens when lavish.dll is still active in memory. Windows keeps some DLLs loaded after you're done with them in case it's needed again shortly after. It should unload itself after about 5 minutes, and then you could run the installer after that
To get the info, the game has to be successfully launched. There will be no sysinfo.txt otherwise
