WoW ...low FPS

Post by Naboo » Wed Oct 26, 2005 5:10 am

I am trying to 2-box with World of Warcraft, but there is a problem. I am getting 3-4 fps with two windows. Matter of fact, when I open one window then click on the taskbar ...the fps downs to 3.

I didn't install EQ PlayNice since its for Everquest.

Here is my sysinfo:

I'm not sure what to say on this one other than to say I get full framerate on a similar system. I do have 3 suggestions based on your sysinfo.txt.

1:
Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP/Service Pack 1/2600.xpsp2.050301-1526
It says you have Service Pack 1. Is there a reason you have not installed Service Pack 2? I cannot guarantee that WinEQ 2 will work up to snuff on SP1.

2:
Driver: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra/nv4_disp.dll/6/14/10/7805
You have driver version 78.05. NVIDIA released 81.85 on October 20th, 2005. Try grabbing the new drivers

3:
Module 36: C:\WINDOWS\System32\idmmbc.dll
Internet Download Manager is said to be legitimate software, but I would definitely see if unloading this (and any other programs running in the background) makes a difference for you. If you can find a specific program that doesnt play well with WinEQ 2, let me know and I'll see if I can fix the problem

Checked it now with Everquest too FPS seems normal but getting some lag thats seems like Hardware lag.
Loged out of EQ and started EQ normal without WinEQ2 and it run flawless again.

While I dont know what the problem is with WoW for you at the moment, the EQ code had some mouse debugging code still in it that was causing performance problems. Restart WinEQ 2 and let it patch, and it should be solved.
