mouse ghosting

Post by tonytec » Tue Aug 30, 2005 12:47 pm

I have been having trouble with the new auto mouse release function. When it is autreleased it will often reappear with the EQ pointer and the Windows pointer offset from one another. I have also had trouble with multiple sessions trying to relaunch on zoning or other <cntrl> features occuring when simply switching between two sessions when not zoning. (Not sure this last sentence reads clearly, but basically it happens when zoning, or if both toons are in the same zone and I try to switch between sessions.

Did you patch WinEQ and receive the "pt 3" patch notes which say this?
2.10 - 8/29/2005 pt 3
- EverQuest 1
* Fixed issue with sticky keys when switching sessions
If not, please do so.

If yes, answer this...
What keys do you use for session switching? Global activation? (ctrl+alt+#) alt+tab? Previous/Next session? (CTRL+ALT+Z, CTRL+ALT+X)

I need to know an EXACT process I can follow to reproduce the issue. This means I need to know the keys you hit, I need to know when you hit them in relation to zoning, and so on. Usually when I ask these question, I never get a response so I cant fix it. I WAS able to reproduce it yesterday following the process another user gave me (which was to launch 2 sessions, leave one at eula, log the other one in to server select, select a server, switch to the other session via global activation and immediately back.. at character select with the memory indicator on, ctrl and alt were "pressed" on the indicator), and I fixed it from that. If it still happens somehow, I need to know another way to reproduce it.

I use <cntrl>+<alt>+<z> to switch sessions. I am also having trouble releasing the mouse when I am just sitting in a zone wanting to go out and view a web site. It will release the mouse (I have the pause/break button set for that) but will often not let me leave the boundry of the window. When it gets to the boundry it reacquires the cursor in EQ itself.

Let me know any info you need, I will get it to you. And I do love this product, just going through patch pains I am sure.

Thanks

I did get patch three prior to my first post, and as I type this I just realized that I think I did not close out and restart it after the patch. I am going to do that fast, and will post back if that fixed it.

A minor ghosting issue heading in, but mouse release working correctly again and so is session swithcing. Also, the auto release I think is working as intended for me for the first time and it is nice. Thanks

I'll let you know if the ghosting seems to linger, but things look better already so I think we may be okay.
