Yes, it will capture anything over the window because it uses windows functions to do it. There is a way to get a 100% accurate screenshots directly from the video card, including anti-aliasing, but it is very slow and is definitely not favorable for capturing video.

Any gamma setting I implement will be the same as controlling it through Windows, and that might even be exactly what NVIDIA's desktop manager is doing anyway.

The best way to get what you're looking for is probably be to use Inner Space, and have the game in full screen mode (for real, not emulation) during the capture. Try it like that, feel free to ask any questions if you can't figure it out.

Heres a couple quick videos I did with Inner Space. The first was in full screen mode, but note that I use a dual monitor setup, and when you capture full screen it gets both screens ;) I'll change that so it only gets the screen the game is on.

The second video is in windowed mode, and is exactly how WinEQ 2 would capture.

I use pretty much default settings and this is a GeForce 5700, and as you can see neither of the videos have the gamma problem that your videos and screenshots do... Do you have special settings set up for your video card through the nvidia control panel? Antialiasing, etc?

the onl thing special I have done with the NVidia control panel is turn the digital vibrance from off to low... messed with the gamma in it only after I tried to run the VC with WinEQ2.

Trying to get IS set up so I can use the VC there and see how it reacts.

Hey Lax... It only took about a month of harrassing SoE, but I FINALLY got an answer I can live with, though I am not sure I like it too well...

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment Customer Support.

If you are taking screenshot in windows mode then gamma settings won't
work, please try to take screenshot in game mode.

Aha. Well, that is definitely an option if you use Inner Space. At least when you want to do a video capture you can just hit alt+enter (with force window off anyway) to use the game's full screen mode. Still sad that it wont be favorable in windowed mode :(

Emulated full screen is still windowed mode, just set to the size of your screen, which is why with WinEQ you wont be able to take videos or screenshots with correct gamma. With Inner Space, you can actually use true full screen mode, which is what they are telling you is required
