Deep in our darkest secret labs we have been working on a brand new feature set for WinEQ subscribers. Presenting... video capture! This system will work in all of our supported games and will be slightly different from, say, Fraps. Fraps does not compress its video, and therefore requires massive amounts of available hard drive space even for a short video clip. Our system will encode to WMV3 (Windows Media Player 9 or later) and allows plenty of tweaking options to let you get the quality and size of video you want.
Here is an example video which we recorded in World of Warcraft at an in-game resolution of 640x480, with a 60% rate of capture (e.g. 1 of every 3 frames is skipped), and a resulting video of 640x480 at 60% image quality. The clip is 57 seconds long and is about 10 fps (the game was running at about 20 fps; the rate of capture setting allows the video to be about 60% the framerate of the game). The video was taken with the compression option on, which slightly decreases overall framerate but allows longer videos by using up less temporary space.
Requires Windows Media Player version 9 codec (you may use a different player as long as it supports the codec)

We will be further tweaking this new system as well as adding sound before the feature is made available to subscribers.
