New Computer, Migrate ISBoxer files/settings?

Post by ronis » Fri Jul 15, 2011 5:35 pm

I got a new computer and am wondering what the best and safest way is to migrate my old ISBoxer files over so I dont have to redo all the hard work (and I probably would miss stuff still).

Thanks,

Ron

All you should have to do is:
1. Install ISBoxer Bundle (ISBoxer + IS)
2. Copy over ISBoxerToolkitProfile.XML (and any additional profiles you have and want to copy over) and ISBoxerToolkit.GlobalSettings.XML
3. Do a new Export

There may be some loose ends if IS is installed to a different location than on the previous PC (mostly missing images for the click bars), or if games are added to Inner Space with different Game or Game Profile names (update each Character to use the new Game+Game Profiles as needed)

Ok, only 1 problem. My new EQ1 install is not in the same location. The software keeps telling me

D:\everquest\eqgame.exe does not exist. Please Correct the Path

I monkeyed around in the ISBoxer software and could not figure out how to direct it to my new install location - so I need details on how to make this correction.

Thanks.

ISBoxer doesn't keep the paths, Inner Space does. I said to install it, not to copy IS folder over ;)

1. If you will ever be linking these computers together for use with ISBoxer, you will probably want to delete InnerSpace.XML from the new folder -- it has a machine-specific setting in it which is used only for linking Inner Space together on multiple PCs.

2. Right click IS, select Configuration. Click the Game configuration tab, then select the Game from the first drop-down and Game Profile from the second drop-down. You can fix the path there

Solved, thanks!

On an unrelated note, I upgraded to Win7 and now my Logitech Set Point controls no longer function within IS, but they work perfcectly within WinEQ2 Pro and everywhere else. Ill explain.

I put (ctrl + alt + X) and (ctrl + alt + Z) to thumb buttons and now nothing happens when I press those buttons (I have 3 other buttons programmed and those dont work either).

Is there something Im missing? Pressing Ctrl + Alt + Z/X on the keyboard works just fine and the mouse works fine on other games, applications, and in Win7. I really need this fixed as I rely heavily on these thumb keys for boxing.

If necessary, I can move this post to a different forum.

Run Logitech SetPoint as Administrator

Will give it a try and a HUGE TY for helping with this. Win7 is so dumb with all the run as administrator and prompts asking if Im SURE I want to run this program...Im still learning to try and run things as Admin to get things to work!
