IS and IE9

Post by ProdigyGamer » Fri Feb 25, 2011 6:28 pm

Hi Lax,

I went back to my old crashing problem and couldn't work out why, I had installed Win 7 SP1 and upgraded to IE9 among other things within the last few days and IS started crashing before account/password screen.

I uninstalled SP1 and other changes and kept trying to load IS after each single uninstall but kept getting the same result.

After I uninstalled IE9 however, IS loaded fine as if nothing happened.

I have loaded SP1 and all the other things back and IS still works fine, it just does not agree with IE9 for some reason, so I thought I would post to let you know.

Game: Vanguard

If you would like any specific information please let me know, I just wanted to give you a heads up, not sure if any other games suffer from IE9 RC crashing them.

IE9 Causing LOTRO to crash

Post by Tacktics » Sat Feb 26, 2011 4:43 pm

I also installed the IE9 RC last night.
Windows 7 SP1 - x64

Now LOTRO crashes when I try and launch through either ISBoxer or InnerSpace interfaces.
LOTRO starts correctly when launched through desktop icon which uses TurbineInvoker.exe

FYI: I tried both TurbineInvoker.exe and TurbineLauncher.exe configurations in InnerSpace. No difference.

I will uninstall IE9 RC and I am assuming everything will work correctly again as per the first post.

Here is the Windows Error:

Fixed in Inner Space build 5389. Restart Inner Space and let it patch up, then IE9 should no longer crash the launcher when used in Inner Space :)
