Games Not Supprted Question

Post by Digitalxero » Tue Sep 05, 2006 10:44 pm

I play a few games that are not supported by WinEQ and force full screen, I was wondering if there is a method for getting these games supported. I notice that each game has it's own DLL, so is there a public API that I can reference for writing my own DLL to support other games? The two games that I use most often are Silkroad online and Fung Wan Online.

No, there isn't a public API. The system WinEQ 2 uses, with separate DLLs per game, is actually poorly designed in comparison to its replacement. Inner Space is designed to support all games without such plugins, and the successor to WinEQ 2 is actually using the Inner Space engine. Of course, that product isn't officially announced yet and won't be available for a few months.

In the meantime, it's entirely possible to use Inner Space to force games into windowed mode, but IS requires a Pro subscription. It isn't guaranteed to support those games, but it may -- the list of games we have tested ourselves to be working is found here: http://www.lavishsoft.com/wiki/index.ph ... rted_Games
And even then, games all respond differently to being forced into a window, so for example one of them might have weird bugs with the cursor, etc.

Either way, in a few months I would expect the unannounced WinEQ 2 successor, and there will be a version for Lite users.
