tiling help...

Post by truwen » Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:29 am

Hello, I am new to wineq2 and have decided instead of PIP i want to try tiling pip is nice and all but i kinda like 2 screens next to each other now I have 1 profile ive been using for 2 acounts (is this right i just need 1 profile for each? or should i be using 2 profiles?) On to the real problem. Any time i try to go tiled mode the windows seem to disappear (not minimize cause if i try to min/maximize them they don't show up till i set the window into full screen...so I dunno what to do short of resetting the profile

And I have that box in the middle of my screen from sft right click but i Think i have found the answer to fix tha on teh boards...graphics driver and if that dn't work there was one other fix i read about. Only thing i need to know now is how to tile without any problems with screens disappearing and can I disable the scaling of the main window so I just have the windows next to each other no matter which is primary at the time?

Actually I think I figured it out in just looking at the preferences an d what not I got the windwos to appear by setting forground and background scales to .6 and .5 repsectively I assume that was the problem since they were both at.0. Now if i change them to the same number...say .5 I assume that they will take up the same space no matter which is primary i.e. not scaling up and down as i switch windows?

you found your own problem :)

if you put the back round at .5 it will stay 1/4 in a corner. that way if you open 2 - 4 other accounts, they will be nicely organized.

on the foreground, if you put.6 it will enlarge that window when active just to give i better view.

i have 2 of my accounts set at .5 backround and .6 foreground.

on my main char which i play, i have backround .5 and foreground .8

this help alot in reading the chat and what not.

Thanks, there seems to be a bit of a learning curve with this program but I think I am getting the hang of it.
