version of messaging not the same?

Post by Doby » Mon Oct 04, 2004 3:40 pm

I get an error when trying to log into EQ using WinEQ. it reads:
The version of messaging is not the same between client and server. This is most likely the result of the client and/or server having been patched. Please try re-patching the client in order to correct this issue
. Any suggestions?

patching EQ

Thank you Lax. I did that. Before I posted. Anyway, I can play EQ in the standard EQ windowed mode, but I cannot still play WinEQ. Any other suggestions?

Sounds like you forgot to recopy to your 2nd EQ directory. I get that message all the time when a patch happens and I forgot to do that. The 2nd session doesn't run because it doesn't match the first one.

What he said. I really cant suggest anything different because WinEQ doesnt interfere with EQ's communications and uses the same copy of EQ that you would otherwise use -- unless you have WinEQ set to use a different EQ. Open the profile using "Edit Profiles..." and check the EQ directory listed. Then make sure that one is patched. Better yet, in the WinEQ Global Preferences tell WinEQ to use the patcher
