Lag problem

I get a lot of lag when running WinEQ even when only running one instance. So bad I can barely move. I thought the newer version would have fixed this for me but I am getting the same problem. Any ideas of how I can fix this?

I am getting a very similar problem only when I am running wineq. It doesn't seem to matter if eqplaynice is running or not.

When I am running eq without wineq, it is taking up 99% cpu, but runs great. When I run wineq I am only getting about 13% cpu usage, even when I have 2 instances up, and no eqplaynice. Stats are the same when eqplaynice is running. Changing the settings in the eqplaynice.ini file make no difference, I have run maxfps up to 170, and still it's like I am walking through quicksand.

Users of Geforce 5xxx cards have previously reported similar issues.

In order for me to help find the cause, it will help to have information about which version of windows, what video card you have, as well as what version of video card drivers.

My System:

AMD 64 3200+
512 Meq PC 2700
Windows XP with SP1
Geforce 5200 FX with the driver downloaded today: 6.14.10.5672

*edit I have the most current versions of wineq and eqplaynice, downloaded today. 0.997, and 1.10.

All so far have been on GeForce 5xxx series. You'd think the newer generation would have less problems than the GF4 :evil:

Log in to character select and get me the portion of WinEQ.LOG (out of the WinEQ directory) at the end that looks like this:

It should begin with IDirect3D9Proxy::CreateDevice() and end with a VERTEXPROCESSING line. The last one pasted to me by someone with a similar issue looked identical to this paste. I may have to go purchase a GF 5xxx series card to fix this.

There is one small difference in there, but I dont think that's going to be the magic problem solver. I will set something up in the next version for you, it should be in the next couple days if not tomorrow. Thanks for your patience and your help in figuring out the problem

Lax I use an ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB card i will get you the log asap. Worked great the first couple versions of WinEQ then all the sudden one day it started lagging ( by the way I sent a payment, thought about it and the software really is worth it) here is my system stats:

AMD Athlon XP 2100+ (1.3g)
ATI Radeon 9600XT 128M
1 Gig + DDR RAM
Win XP PRo SP2
