Disconnect Issues before Char Screen

Post by delfi » Thu Sep 16, 2004 2:38 pm

When I select my server and eq finishes loading the blue bar, it goes black like it does right before charecters gonna pop up. Unfortunately instead it immediately says you have been disconnected and sends me back to the server select screen. I tried downloading wineq and reinstalling a couple times and made sure that eq is fully patched.(EQ loads into charecter fine.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're not running anything else? Can you run EQ normally and log into character select?

No I am not running anything but wineq. I also tried turning off eqplaynice integration but didn't help. Yes I can log in fine without wineq and run multipule eq sessions. Wineq can't even log one.(When wineq loads up the blue bar goes full, but it never gets to the second blue bar saying loading zone info or whatever.) Not sure if it makes a difference but I have zone saving on(saves to hard drive so zone faster, forget extra name :))

Hmmm post WinEQ.log for me and I'll see if anything looks out of the ordinary. It might help also to have the last few lines in EverQuest's dbg.txt (found in EverQuest\logs) right after it happens.

What version of Windows is this on?

Now in regular eq window it seems to load a second blue line of code which says loading zone files now, after first blue bar fills up finishing with finsihed loading world. When I run Wineq however the first one loads and says finished loading world, but instead of going to the new second bar it goes black and then immediately u have been disconnected.

Everything worked fine till 1.37 and omens download. (Have all settings in options the exact same also.)

Windowsxp professional. SP1
Cable connection running through wireless linksys(I am hardwired)

I don't see that log file in everquest directory. I only see one called sky and it has only 4 lines of code in it. Want that??

Sky.txt is fairly useless. There should be files called "dbg.txt" and "dbg_login.txt" in your logs directory, at least theyre in mine..

Your log file looks perfectly normal. I will see what I can do to help determine the problem anyway. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll try to do what I can -- unfortunately nothing relevant has been changed since 1.35 so I'm not positive as to whether it's an EQ problem or a WinEQ problem
