Eqgame.exe crashing on opening a second screen.

I was having the same "time out" issue so I updated to the 1.21 but now when ever i try to open a second screen eqgame.exe crash's. Any idea what the problem may be?

Hmmm looks pretty normal. Try opening dbg.txt in the everquest directory (not debug.txt) when the crash happens. Look for the last instance of "Fatal error in main thread". If you find that, get me that line and the next ... 20 or so. If you do not find that, get me the final 20 lines or so of the file.

I also crash on 2nd window with EQwindow, same error. So lead me to believe it wasn't your programming but rather EQ changing something that would make programs built to 2 box on same computer do this...and found

Mildly encouraging to see an EQ Programmer recognize the issue, but here's the kicker...all the post dates are in mid June :-/. Anyway gl figuring this out hehe.

I suspect that the last poster might be on to something.

I have another issue entirely, which is posted on another thread.

However, I started out having the problem that is described in this topic when I had only 512 megs of ram. I assumed that this was an issue caused by a lack of ram so I went and bought another 512 megs of ram and this problem stopped entirely (rather than reading the forums I just threw money at the problem).

I was able to get 2 windows up, but I had to use EQwindows and set 2nd window to use Software Vertex Processing so it would use less of my gfx card ram. I'm not sure how to turn on a setting like that on WinEQ, but it's not the best solution , just enough to get 2 characters up, because software vertexing at least on my machine leaves you with grey objects where there would be something drawn.

That option is in WinEQ's global preferences, on the display tab. I wouldnt recommend using it as usually it only ends with crashes
