Screen mode is not working... from 1.10 - 1.16

Post by cjn » Sat Jul 24, 2004 6:40 pm

Screen mode is not working starting from 1.10... Full Screen mode isnt full screened... I can see the whole title bar, while all other modes are same as normal mode, with a portion of the title bar out of screen (which is normal). No in-game experience is affected however.

My system is 3200+ with 1GB RAM and GF3 64MB, running on Win2K Pro.

There was a bug in 0.993-1.00 that caused full screen mode to appear to work sometimes, when in fact it didn't for Lite users. If you had hit "reset window position" for example, it would show the title bar. I am aware that this was a convenient bug and apologize for the confusion. Screen modes are reserved for subscribers. The lite WinEQ is designed to be very similar to EQWindows with a few nice features not otherwise available.

Oh I see. While without full screen mode isn't really a big deal (as long as I can multi-box happily), can you make the normal WinEQ sessions on top of the Windows Toolbar (which EQWindows do)? I don't want to keep disabling the Always on Top feature (Windows Toolbar, not WinEQ) when I am playing EQ and re-enabling it again after.

I have been working on figuring out how to do this. The trick is actually that the window must have "Lock window size" on, and take up a large enough portion of the screen (testing it now, that's all that needs to happen). The reason this isnt an issue in EQWindows is it doesn't allow resizing ;)

This is a popular question. I'll fix WinEQ Lite so that it has that permanently on, since it doesnt allow resizing anyway.

Done.

WinEQ Lite 1.16 should no longer cover the task bar. Let me know if you have any other issues

* Edit: I just posted an announcement about this being fixed for WinEQ Lite. Any newly opened EQ windows will have the updated data from the server.

Still doesn't work... I have clicked "Lock Window Size" and the task bar is still covering my EQ sessions.

Oh it works on the default profile, but not my custom profiles (even I choose New from default when I create my profiles). Is there anything special in eqclient.ini? Since my profiles are using different eqclient.ini.

Hmmm... it should work at and after character select at least. I'll have to put out a new version to make it 100%

For WinEQ Lite, setting the lock actually makes no difference. You can use Reset Window Position to force the change, or it should work fine after character select.

That will be great. By the way, can you include path selection when choosing custom eqclient.ini?

I'll see about path selection, but the intent is mostly to have separately named eqclient.ini files in the same directory, rather than separate directories using the same eqclient.ini :)

oh, for me I just put my customized eqclient.ini files in another folder, such that I won't loose my settings accidentally in-game like when pressing "Reload Defaults"

by the way... it still doesn't cover my task bar after character select, no matter what profile I am using now.
